Ongoing No trains between Den Bosch and Nijmegen until Tuesday
A damaged overhead line near Nuland has stopped all rail traffic between Den Bosch and Nijmegen in both directions, and stop buses replace the trains.
No trains run between Den Bosch and Nijmegen until half past five on Tuesday morning, in both directions. A road vehicle that was too high pulled down the overhead line near Nuland around one o'clock on Monday afternoon, according to rail manager ProRail.
The vehicle damaged the contact wires (rijdraden) above both tracks, so no trains can pass. Stop buses run between Oss, Oss-West, Rosmalen, Den Bosch-Oost and Den Bosch station as an alternative.
ProRail calls the repair a sizeable job. The damage first had to be assessed, and materials had to be ordered to replace the overhead line. A contractor has been working since Monday afternoon.
The repairs will take at least the rest of the day and the night. ProRail expects trains to run again on Tuesday morning.

ProRail
ProRail is the Dutch organisation that manages the national railway infrastructure: the tracks, signals, overhead lines, and the traffic control that decides when trains may run. Train operators such as NS run the trains themselves, but ProRail is the party that maintains the network and handles repairs after a disruption, such as a damaged overhead line that closes a section of track.
