About 840 people entered the Dutch asylum system in week 42, the national government (Rijksoverheid) says: 500 first applications, 250 family members who travelled to join someone already here (nareizigers, excluding 8 EVRM cases) and 100 other applications.
The other applications are repeat applications, resettlement and relocation. The figures are rounded to the nearest 10 and are provisional, so they may differ slightly. Final figures and trends are published monthly on the website of the IND, the immigration service.
