About NLnow
News from the Netherlands in English, for people who live here and do not read Dutch. What happened, what it means for you, and who said it.
How a story is made
NLnow is written with AI models. They read Dutch reporting and official sources, write the story in English, and check it. People set the rules every story must follow and correct what goes wrong; they do not read each story before it is published.
Stories are built from several Dutch reports, and from the official body itself wherever there is one: Statistics Netherlands (CBS), De Nederlandsche Bank, RIVM, a ministry, a court or a municipality. Facts are attributed to the person or body they come from.
Before publication, every story is checked against its sources by a separate AI editor, with second readings from models made by other companies. A story with a wrong number, name, date or quote does not go live. Neither does a story that is not news for people living in the Netherlands.
What we do not do
We do not take sides. Opinions are attributed to the people and parties who hold them, and a claim is reported as a claim, not as a fact. We do not publish rumours, and we do not copy other outlets' stories: the facts come from the original source.
Charts and figures
Figures come from the official statistics they are published in, mostly CBS, DNB and the central government, and the source is named under every chart.
Corrections
Published stories are checked against their sources again after publication. When we get something wrong, we correct the story.
