No trains on parts of Arnhem–Utrecht route for 12 days from 20 October
Work at Wolfheze station will halt trains between Arnhem, Driebergen-Zeist, Rhenen and Ede-Wageningen in two phases, and NS expects its replacement buses to be busy.
Trains will stop running on parts of the route between Arnhem and Utrecht from Tuesday 20 to Saturday 31 October, while ProRail works on the track at Wolfheze station. The work is split into two phases, and the disruption lasts 12 days in total.
Why it matters
- First phase, Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 October (four days): no trains between Driebergen-Zeist and Arnhem Centraal, or between Driebergen-Zeist and Rhenen.
- Second phase, Saturday 24 to 31 October: no trains between Arnhem Centraal and Ede-Wageningen.
Besides the track, ProRail is also redoing the station square at Wolfheze.
NS is running replacement buses on the affected routes and expects them to be busy. It advises travellers to check current travel information. NS also says that, for some travellers, taking the train where possible could work out better than taking a replacement bus.

ProRail
ProRail is the Dutch national railway infrastructure manager, a government-owned company responsible for the railway network. It maintains and builds the tracks, signals, switches and level crossings, and it decides when trains may run on which sections. When it says trains will not run on a stretch, such as the Arnhem–Utrecht line near Wolfheze station, it means ProRail is doing track work there, so passenger service is interrupted or replaced by buses.
