Ongoing Rijkswaterstaat warns of heavy rush hours as autumn holiday ends
Rijkswaterstaat warns of heavy evening rush hours today and tomorrow as rain and the end of the autumn holiday put more cars on Dutch roads.
Rijkswaterstaat, the national roads agency, says drivers on the A12 towards Arnhem should expect a delay of at least an hour after an accident just before Driebergen.
Rijkswaterstaat expects heavy traffic jams during the evening rush hour today and tomorrow, because of rain and the end of the autumn holiday.
For tomorrow evening the agency forecasts a "zware spits", a heavy rush hour. Rijkswaterstaat says that in a rush hour of that kind, traffic jams on national roads can add up to as much as 500 kilometres across the country.
