Metro lines 52 and 54 run until 02.00 for ADE
NS is running more and longer trains this weekend, and GVB metro lines 52 and 54 run until 02.00 on Friday and Saturday nights, to handle crowds at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).
Railway operator NS is running more trains, some of them longer, this weekend because of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). Amsterdam's GVB transport company is also extending metro and night bus service.
NS expects trains to Bijlmer Arena station to be the busiest. The station is near Afas Live, the Ziggo Dome and, on Saturday evening, the Johan Cruijff Arena, where parties are held. On Friday night, trains between Amsterdam and the other large Randstad cities stop at Bijlmer Arena at 01.30 and 02.30. On Saturday night, all night trains between Amsterdam and the large cities stop there.
During the day on Saturday, trains run every ten minutes between Utrecht Centraal and Amsterdam Centraal. On Sunday morning more trains leave from Bijlmer Arena, so all ADE visitors who go out in the Arena area can get home by train.
Metro, buses and ferries
GVB metro lines 52 (Noord/Zuidlijn) and 54 (Gein–Centraal Station) run an hour longer, until 02.00, on Friday and Saturday nights. On Sunday morning the first metros on lines 50 (Isolatorweg–Gein) and 54 leave at 05.15.
GVB night buses also run an hour longer on Saturday night because of the switch to winter time. The clocks go back from 03.00 to 02.00, so bus drivers work an hour longer, until 03.00 winter time.
Bus 48 runs two extra early trips from the Houthavens to Centraal Station on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. The NDSM–Centraal Station ferry runs all night on Saturday and Sunday nights. The Buiksloterweg–Centraal Station ferry runs all night, every six minutes, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights.

ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event)
Amsterdam Dance Event is an annual music, media and design festival held in Amsterdam, with club nights, conferences, exhibitions and showcases spread across the city. Because it draws large crowds from all over the country and abroad, public transport providers such as NS and GVB often add extra capacity around the event.
GVB (Gemeentelijk Vervoerbedrijf)
GVB is the municipal public transport company of Amsterdam, operating the city's trams, metro lines and buses. It is the main provider of local public transport within Amsterdam, so its timetable changes are relevant to anyone travelling in the city.
