Police have arrested two men from Amsterdam after a BMW carrying explosives crashed in the Nierkerkestraat in Amsterdam-Osdorp on 28 July. Police had been chasing the car, and its three occupants ran off after the crash.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man from Amsterdam on 29 September. An arrest team detained a 25-year-old man at a home in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

The car was linked to an explosive ATM raid (plofkraak) in Germany earlier that day. Because of the explosives, police cordoned off a large area. Several homes and a care home were evacuated, and the defence ministry's explosives disposal service (EOD) came to examine the material.

Police also arrested someone at Schiphol in August in connection with the case. That person was later released. The investigation is continuing.
