plofkraak
A plofkraak is an explosive robbery, in which criminals use explosives to blow open a cash machine (ATM), safe or bank vault to steal the money inside. The term is used in the Netherlands and neighbouring countries for this type of raid. Because the explosives create a serious danger to residents and passers-by, a plofkraak usually leads to a large police response, such as cordons and evacuations.
