Signify third-quarter profit rises to €88m on lower sales
The lighting company made more profit in the third quarter on lower sales, helped by a US refund of import tariffs.
Signify, the lighting company, raised its net profit in the third quarter to €88m, from €76m a year earlier. Sales fell to just under €1.4bn, down 3.4% on a year earlier when acquisitions and disposals are excluded.
Consumer lighting sold less well. Sales in the consumer division fell by about 5%.
Profit still rose because the company cut costs and raised prices, according to CEO As Tempelman.
Signify also had a windfall: a refund of US import tariffs brought in €28m.
The company announced in early 2026 that it would cut 900 jobs worldwide. It says this produced €37m in gross savings in the third quarter.
