Prosecutors name mother as only suspect in Nour's killing
The Public Prosecution Service (OM) sees the mother as the only suspect in the death of 14-year-old Nour. A second preliminary hearing was held in Roermond.
A second preliminary hearing in the criminal case against Nour's mother, identified as R., took place on Thursday at the district court in Roermond. She was again not in the courtroom. Prosecutors see her as the only suspect in the death of her 14-year-old daughter.
R. has confessed that she killed her daughter. Police also arrested Nour's father after the girl's death, but released him soon afterwards.
No motive is known yet, partly because questioning the suspect has proved almost impossible. The woman will be observed at the Pieter Baan Centrum as part of a personality assessment.
