Resolved Power outage hits nearly 15,000 connections in Gelderland

Grid operator Liander said power was largely restored on Friday afternoon after an outage hit nearly 15,000 connections in four municipalities in Gelderland.

A large area of the southern Achterhoek and part of the Liemers lost power on Friday afternoon. The outage began shortly before 12:30. Grid operator Liander said it affected places in the municipalities of Oude IJsselstreek, Aalten, Doetinchem and Montferland.

The outage initially covered 22 postcode areas. Around 13:30, Liander said it had fixed a large part of the problem. Of nearly 15,000 connections, Liander said, fewer than 50 were still thought to be affected.

Liander first expected to fix the faults by 14:30. It then pushed back the expected end time for the remaining connections to 15:00. By around 15:30 power was largely restored, and Liander reported no more interruptions except at a few locations.
