The Netherlands, explained

Liander

Liander is a grid operator (netbeheerder) that owns and maintains the electricity and gas networks in several regions of the Netherlands, including parts of Gelderland. It does not sell energy to households; your energy supplier handles your contract and bill, while Liander builds, repairs and monitors the cables and pipes that deliver the power and gas. When there is an outage, the grid operator is the party that locates the fault, restores the connection and informs the public about affected areas.
