Zelensky meets Prime Minister Jetten and the king on Wednesday

Ukraine's president visits the Netherlands for talks with Prime Minister Rob Jetten and a call on King Willem-Alexander, as new negotiations on the war are due.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visits the Netherlands on Wednesday. Prime Minister Rob Jetten receives him in the afternoon at the Catshuis in The Hague. In the early evening Zelensky calls on King Willem-Alexander at Paleis Huis ten Bosch.

The visit starts with a talk between Zelensky and Jetten. The delegations then meet, with Deputy Prime Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz and Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen also present. A conversation with chief executives of Dutch and Ukrainian companies follows.

It is the first time Jetten has received Zelensky at the Catshuis. Zelensky came there last year, when Dick Schoof was prime minister. Jetten visited Kyiv in March, and Zelensky was in Middelburg in April to receive the Four Freedoms Award.

New negotiations on the Russian war against Ukraine are due soon.

Zelensky has travelled widely among European allies in recent weeks. He was received by King Charles in the UK and King Filip in Belgium. In Norway he discussed the negotiations with US envoy Steve Witkoff.
