Children still not protected enough from violence, report says

The Kinderrechtencollectief says in its annual report that the government lacks a clear picture of how many children in the Netherlands grow up unsafe.

Children are still not heard and protected well enough against insecurity and violence, the Kinderrechtencollectief (children's rights collective) says in its annual report, Kinderrechten in Beweging. The group will hold a protest at the Tweede Kamer on Wednesday afternoon.

The collective says the government has too little insight into how many children in the Netherlands grow up in an unsafe situation. Insight into violence remains limited and fragmented, it says.

The collective monitors compliance with children's rights in the Netherlands. Its members include Defence for Children, Kinderpostzegels, Save the Children and Terre des Hommes.
