Cornald Maas left out of Dutch Eurovision team
The longtime Dutch voice of the Song Contest is not on the team running the Netherlands' 2027 entry, and AVROTROS is staying out.
Cornald Maas will not provide the Dutch commentary at the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. AVROTROS is not taking part, and nobody asked Maas to join the team the NPO has put together for the Dutch entry.
Maas has been the Dutch commentator since 2004, except for 2011 to 2013.
At the end of August AVROTROS announced it would not take part in 2027. Director Taco Zimmerman said the Song Contest had become a stage for division. The broadcaster handed responsibility for the Dutch entry back to the NPO.
The Netherlands will take part in 2027 after all, with an independent team of experts running the entry for the NPO.

The organisation that runs Dutch public broadcasting: it manages the public television channels, radio stations and online services on which the public broadcasters air their programmes.
AVROTROS
AVROTROS is one of the broadcasting associations (omroepverenigingen) that make television and radio programmes for the Dutch public broadcaster system. Its programmes are broadcast through the NPO, which coordinates public broadcasting in the Netherlands and distributes airtime and funding to the associations. Because it is a member of this system, its role in events such as the Eurovision Song Contest depends on whether it takes part in a given year.
