Code yellow for gusts of up to 100 km/h tonight
A code yellow weather warning covers Zuid-Holland, Zeeland and Limburg tonight, with showery rain and a possible southerly storm at the coast late tomorrow.
A code yellow warning is in force for strong wind gusts in Zuid-Holland, Zeeland and Limburg. Tonight and overnight, areas south of the centre of the low-pressure system get a rapidly strengthening wind that turns west to southwest and becomes stormy at the coast. Gusts could reach 90 km/h at the coast and in the south, first in Zeeland, and locally 100 km/h at the coast.
Showery rain is expected this evening and overnight, with rainfall amounts rising sharply. Gusts may also be stronger in the Limburg hills (Limburgse heuvelland). Temperatures fall from 12 to 14 degrees today to between 7 and 10 degrees tonight.
Tomorrow starts windy, then calms in the afternoon as a ridge of high pressure passes, with highs of 12 to 14 degrees. More rain and wind follow late in the afternoon, in the evening and overnight into Sunday. A southerly storm is possible at the coast, with gusts of up to 110 km/h. Inland the wind is somewhat calmer but still strong.
On Sunday it stays windy, especially in the north, where a few showers remain. Elsewhere the rain stops. Highs are again 12 to 14 degrees. The weather stays slightly unsettled early next week, with a lot of wind, especially on Tuesday.
