Police arrest three after car hits people in Valkenswaard

Police arrested three suspects in Waalre on Monday evening after a fight on the Kardinaal de Jongstraat in Valkenswaard, where a car drove into "multiple people", a police spokesperson said. Police received the report at around a quarter past nine.

One man was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. The car then drove away from the scene, but officers stopped it on the Gildebosweg in Waalre shortly after the fight in Valkenswaard. Police arrested three suspects there, and one of them is also injured.

Police cordoned off the Kardinaal de Jongstraat in Valkenswaard on Monday evening for investigation. Officers secured traces and searched for possible cartridge cases. Blood and broken glass lay on the road; the glass came from the rear window of the suspects' car.

Shots may also have been fired during the incident, which is why officers searched the street for cartridge cases. Police have yet to establish whether any shots were actually fired; their investigation must show this.
