Slayyyter plays first Dutch show while losing her voice
The American pop artist, whose third album Worst Girl in America made her a breakthrough name this year, performed for about 1,500 people at Paradiso despite losing her voice.
American pop artist Slayyyter played her first show in the Netherlands on Monday 19 October at Paradiso in Amsterdam, to about 1,500 people.
She told the audience she was ill and losing her voice, and said she needed them to sing along.
Slayyyter, real name Catherine Grace Garner, built the show around her third album, Worst Girl in America, which she had intended to be her last. She played with a live band, which gave the songs a more rock-based sound than on the record.
She also played new songs from Worst Man in America, a follow-up she has announced. Her performance at the Coachella festival this year helped her breakthrough.
Twelve shows remain on her tour after Amsterdam.

Paradiso
Paradiso is a music venue and club in Amsterdam, one of the best-known concert halls in the city for pop, rock, and electronic music. It is housed in a converted former church building on the Weteringschans, near Leidseplein. Artists from the Netherlands and abroad regularly perform there, so a show at Paradiso is often seen as a major stop on a tour.
