About 80 refugees with a residence permit (statushouders) and asylum seekers met employers at a job market in the Timmerhuis in central Rotterdam. Employers included Facilicom, Rotterdam Marriott Hotel, OTTO Workforce and Breman Installaties. The speed-dating format is a first introduction. If there is a match, the two sides make a follow-up appointment.
The event was organised by the municipality and Tent Nederland, a coalition of 51 large companies. It was the first time Rotterdam did this with the coalition.
Large companies linked to Tent Nederland hired 13,500 refugees with residence permits and asylum seekers last year, on permanent and temporary agency contracts.
