Heineken's total sales volume rose by just over 6% to 76 million hectolitres in the third quarter, the company said. Revenue grew by about 10% to €9.6bn.

Asian countries contributed most to the growth, especially Vietnam, China and India. Volume growth also continued in Africa and the Middle East, where Heineken described it as robust.

In Europe, the summer weather helped sales grow. Heineken said growth also returned in North and South America, including Mexico and Brazil.

The brewer also sold more of its premium beers. Heineken said low- and no-alcohol drinks grew at double-digit rates worldwide.
