Beekse Bergen keeper has 'very small' chance of recovery

The condition of the keeper who was seriously injured in a panther attack at Safaripark Beekse Bergen on Saturday has worsened. Her employer says the chance of recovery is "very small". The park, near Hilvarenbeek in North Brabant, announced this on Sunday with her family's permission.

A park spokesperson said: "We are, of course, enormously saddened by this news and are doing everything we can to support her family, colleagues and others close to her, and to offer extra counselling where needed."

The park is staying open, in consultation with the keeper's family, the spokesperson said.
