A27 closes in both directions for two weekends
Drivers between the Lunetten and Everdingen interchanges face diversions via the A12 and A2 on two consecutive weekends.
The A27 is closed in both directions between the Lunetten and Everdingen interchanges from 22.00 on Friday 23 October until 05.00 on Monday 26 October. It closes again on the same stretch from 22.00 on Friday 30 October until 05.00 on Monday 2 November.
Traffic is diverted via the A12 and A2. Rijkswaterstaat, the national roads agency, expects delays of 10 to about 30 minutes.
The closures are part of continuing work on the A27, which has already needed several night and weekend closures. The whole 47km stretch of motorway between Houten and Hooipolder is being tackled.
On 16 October the government announced €1bn for an upgrade of the A27 between Houten and Hooipolder, including the Merwedebrug.

The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management is the Dutch national agency for roads and waterways, part of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. It builds, maintains and manages the national motorways, main waterways and flood defences. It also manages traffic on the national road network, which is why it announces closures, diversions and expected delays such as those on the A27.
