US lets International Criminal Court keep using American tech
The US government has exempted American tech companies such as Google, Microsoft and Amazon from its sanctions when they serve the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
The International Criminal Court in The Hague may keep using services from American tech companies such as Google, Microsoft and Amazon. The US government announced crippling sanctions against the court in October, but quietly arranged an exemption for the technology service providers.
The exemption is laid down in a licence from the US Treasury Department. It was issued on 9 October, the same day the sanctions were announced.
