Tilburg students catch burglar after fight in their house
Housemates in a Tilburg student house chased down and held a 31-year-old suspected burglar after he broke free from a fight with a resident, police said.
A student who came home shortly after 4:00 a.m. to a student house on Ringbaan Oost in Tilburg found a man inside who did not live there, police said. As he came closer, he realised the man was a stranger. He did not hesitate and grabbed the intruder.
A fierce fight followed. The suspect, 31, eventually broke free and ran out through the front door.
Housemates who had been woken by the noise ran after him. They caught up with him after a few metres and held him until police arrived.
Officers found the resident's belongings in the suspect's backpack, including his laptop.
