A 38-year-old employee of the Public Prosecution Service, who also holds political office in Oost-Brabant, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of election fraud and official corruption.

A 38-year-old employee of the Public Prosecution Service (OM) was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of election fraud and official corruption. He is also suspected of hacking, forgery and breach of official secrecy. He works at the Parket CVOM, the OM's central processing unit (Centrale Verwerking Openbaar Ministerie). The Rijksrecherche, the internal investigations unit, and the police are investigating under the leadership of the OM in Zeeland-West-Brabant.

Earlier this year the man came up in another criminal investigation, on suspicion of money laundering, and the OM suspended him. Further investigation produced the new suspicions. A 34-year-old man from Oost-Brabant was also arrested on Tuesday in this investigation.
