It is held in Maastricht because the Netherlands chairs the Benelux Committee of Ministers this year. Minister-president Wüst of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia joins the meeting later.
The summit starts in the Sint Janskerk with a conversation between the three prime ministers. They will talk about strengthening cooperation in the Benelux and the EU, the Ministry of General Affairs said.
The prime ministers then join a discussion session with students of Maastricht University, organised with Studio Europa Maastricht.
Jetten then receives Wüst. The four leaders speak briefly with each other before visiting a Benelux innovation market. There they talk with professionals about concrete projects on security, economic cooperation and cross-border autonomous road transport.
The summit ends with a working dinner with businesses about opportunities and challenges in the European internal market.
