Gerard Joling denies row over leaving De Toppers

The singer, 66, answered rumours of a row in a video on Tuesday, days after announcing he is leaving the group.

Gerard Joling says nobody fell out with him at De Toppers. He answered the rumours in his own vlog on Tuesday.

Joling announced last week that he is leaving the group after more than twenty years. Rumours of friction followed.

In the video, Joling said he had read unkind reactions about his Toppers colleagues René Froger, Jan Smit and Jeroen van der Boom. "That was absolutely not my intention. Let it be very clear. I have had no quarrel or nasty things with anyone."

He sent Froger, who has an autoimmune disease, his best wishes. "I hope his medication works, so that he can soon sing along with De Toppers again," Joling said. "I wish the men all the best, and they know that deep in their hearts and in mine."
