DENK MP Ergin files criminal complaint over Derksen throat-cutting remark
A sitting member of parliament has gone to the police over remarks about 'that gentleman from DENK' made on a TV programme.
Doğukan Ergin, a member of the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of the Dutch parliament, for the party DENK, has filed a police report against Johan Derksen, 77, a criminal complaint over remarks Derksen made about him on Tuesday evening. The remarks were made on Vandaag Inside, a Dutch television talk show. Ergin is 34.
The remarks came during an item about unstunned ritual slaughter. Derksen said: "We will use that gentleman from DENK as a guinea pig and slit his throat", to see "if that causes no pain".
