Vollering takes silver in European time trial in Ljubljana
The Dutch road world champion came second to Marlen Reusser, who has now won the European time trial title five times.
Demi Vollering won silver in the time trial at the European Cycling Championships in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She finished 23 seconds behind Marlen Reusser, who took the title.
Reusser is the world champion in the time trial. This was her fifth European time trial title.
Juliette Berthet of France won bronze, behind the winner by 1.09 minutes.
Vollering is the world champion on the road, so she raced in Ljubljana as the reigning title holder in the other discipline. The time trial is a solo race against the clock.
Lieke Nooijen was the other Dutch rider. She finished tenth, 2.4 minutes behind Reusser.
