Crash tests find serious defects in two child car seats

The ANWB and Consumentenbond warn about two child car seats from Axkid and Britax Römer, and the Axkid Minikid Core is being recalled.

Crash tests have found serious safety defects in two types of child car seats, made by the brands Axkid and Britax Römer. The ANWB, the Dutch motoring association, and the Consumentenbond, the Dutch consumers' association, have issued an urgent warning.

What changes for you

  • The Axkid Minikid Core is being recalled, and owners are urgently advised to stop using it.
  • Sales of one of the two models have been stopped with immediate effect.

In one of the tests, the safety belt came loose. The test dummy was thrown out of the seat. The tests show the two seats pose major risks to young children, according to the warning.

Which Britax Römer model was found to have safety defects has not been specified.
