No minimum amount for internship pay, but bill would make it compulsory

The cabinet is not setting a minimum internship allowance for now, and student unions are unhappy, although a bill from minister Rianne Letschert would oblige companies to pay interns.

The Dutch cabinet is not introducing a minimum amount for the student internship allowance (stagevergoeding) for the time being. A bill from minister Rianne Letschert would oblige companies to pay interns, but sectors may set the amount themselves.

Student unions are unhappy with the decision.
