Dutch data watchdog opens new directorate to supervise AI and algorithms
The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens has started a new directorate that will prepare AI market supervision in the Netherlands.
The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP), the Dutch data protection authority, has started a new directorate (directie) called Toezicht en Coördinatie AI/Algoritmes (TCA), as it prepares further for supervision of artificial intelligence (AI).
TCA continues the coordinating supervision of AI and algorithms that the AP has carried out since 2023. It is also preparing AI market supervision.
Together with the Dutch digital infrastructure inspectorate (Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur, RDI), TCA is shaping the "AI sandbox" and the joint AI coordination centre (AI Coördinatiecentrum).
