Allow extra half hour on A20 near Rotterdam this weekend
Rijkswaterstaat says drivers on the A20 between Gouda and Rotterdam should allow an extra half hour and detour via the A13 or A4.
Rijkswaterstaat, the national roads agency, is closing a 15-kilometre stretch of the A20 in both directions this weekend. Towards Rotterdam, the motorway is shut between the Gouwe interchange near Gouda and the Rotterdam-Prins Alexander exit, from Friday 21:00 until Monday 05:00.
Rijkswaterstaat tells travellers on this stretch to allow an extra half hour. It advises drivers to go round via the A13 or the A4.
In the other direction, towards Gouda, the A20 is closed between Rotterdam (Terbregseplein interchange) and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel (exit 17). That closure runs from Friday 21:00 until Saturday 05:00.
Rijkswaterstaat warns that all on- and off-ramps in between may close from Friday 20:00, an hour before the carriageways shut.

Rijkswaterstaat
Rijkswaterstaat is the Dutch national agency for main roads and waters, operating under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. It plans, builds, maintains and manages the national motorways, the main waterways and the national water defences such as dykes and storm surge barriers. It also decides on and carries out national road closures and diversions for maintenance and works, so it is the body behind most announcements of motorway closures in the Netherlands.
