Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam-Rijnmond

The Rotterdam-Rijnmond safety region is the regional safety authority for Rotterdam and the surrounding municipalities in the Rijnmond area. It brings together the regional fire service, municipal crisis management and medical emergency support, and coordinates the response when an incident affects more than one municipality or needs a joint approach. Safety regions like this one are the public bodies that inform residents and close off or manage dangerous locations during emergencies such as flooding, gas leaks or infrastructure damage.
