Spreidingswet

The spreidingswet is Dutch legislation that requires municipalities to share responsibility for housing asylum seekers proportionally based on their population size. This law ensures that the burden of accommodating asylum seekers is distributed fairly across the country rather than concentrated in a few cities. Municipalities that fail to meet their housing quotas can face financial penalties or supervision.
