Excise (accijns)
A fixed tax per litre, set by law. In 2026 it is €0.84 on a litre of petrol and €0.55 on diesel. A temporary discount on the full rate was extended to 1 January 2027.
VAT (btw)
The general rate of 21%, included in the pump price.
