Wibra recalls six girls' cardigan variants over choking risk

The food and consumer product safety authority (NVWA) has warned about Wibra girls' cardigans with buttons that can come off and pose a choking risk to young children.

Wibra has recalled six variants of its girls' cardigan with a bow ('catfeather strik'), made for babies and children, because the buttons can easily break off. The NVWA says the small parts that come loose can be a choking hazard for young children.

Why it matters

  • Customers can return the cardigans to a Wibra store.
  • They get the full purchase price back, even without a receipt.

The products are the 'BMS vestje catfeather strik' and the 'KMS vestje catfeather strik', with item numbers 2287.0143 and 2287.0149. Batch codes are 2001294 and 2204248, and colour codes are 111, 192, 195 and 202.

The cardigans were sold in Wibra stores between 14 September and 29 October 2026. Wibra says the product does not meet the required quality and safety standards.
