On Wednesday the Public Prosecution Service (OM) demanded ten years in prison at the Amsterdam court for Soufiane El A., 34. He is accused of robbing, raping and locking up two women who worked as sex workers.

El A. allegedly arranged to meet one of the women through the prostitution website Kinky.nl. He then allegedly went with a co-suspect to the women's home in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, where both women were allegedly raped.

The suspects allegedly robbed the women of items including mobile phones, money and jewellery, and locked them in the home. Hours later a neighbour called 112, and police freed the women.

The prosecutor called it "an exceptionally nasty case". The court will rule in the case against El A. on 11 November.
