Breda hospital to clamp wheels of staff who park badly
Amphia hospital will clamp the cars of staff who park outside the parking bays from November, after earlier measures such as warning cards failed to solve the problem.
Amphia hospital in Breda will start fitting wheel clamps from November to the cars of staff who park outside the parking bays. Hospital security staff will fit them.
Why it matters
- Every offence is registered and earns a warning.
- Three warnings mean a week's ban from the staff car park.
- Repeat offenders can lose their parking right for good.
- Special spaces will stay available for urgent call-outs, the hospital says.
The staff car park by the staff entrance has about 1,600 spaces. Some staff still park outside the parking bays, which Amphia says regularly causes problems.
Earlier measures did not solve it. Staff received warning cards under their wipers, security guards spoke to offenders, and internal communications drew colleagues' attention to their parking.
Under the hospital's rules, a driver whose car is clamped must go to hospital security to have the clamp removed. After a ban, a member of staff must ask their manager for permission to park again, the hospital says.
