Schiedam checks for flower bulbs after six dogs die
The municipality of Schiedam says first soil results suggest neither poisonous mushrooms nor pollution killed six dogs. It is now checking for flower bulbs.
Additional research is now looking at the possible presence of flower bulbs, which can be poisonous to dogs.
Five of the dogs died after walks in the park De Plantage. The sixth died after a walk near the Bachplein in Schiedam-Noord.
A municipal spokesperson said the extensive investigation into the deaths is continuing.
“We know there is a great deal of unrest among Schiedam residents and we are doing everything to come up with results as quickly as possible,” the municipality said. It will share more once it knows more.
What killed the dogs is still unknown.
