PSV go two points behind Feyenoord after 7-0 win
PSV won the Brabant derby 7-0 at home on Saturday evening, in the first match for Jurgen Streppel since he returned as Willem II coach.
PSV won 7-0 at home against Willem II in the Philips Stadion on Saturday evening. Feyenoord, league leaders in the Eredivisie, had dropped two points against Fortuna Sittard earlier in the evening, so PSV are now two points behind them.
Streppel was back on the Willem II bench in his first match since returning as coach, after taking over from the sacked John Stegeman. He started with five defenders. Mauro Júnior opened the scoring after about 20 minutes, and Guus Til made it 2-0 with a back-heel shortly before half-time.
Sven Mijnans scored the 3-0 with a volley and Ruben van Bommel headed in the 4-0. In the 67th minute Willem II's Uriël van Aalst hit the crossbar from close range with an empty goal in front of him.
Ricardo Pepi, a substitute back from injury, headed the fifth, and Kodai Sano made it 6-0. Shuryjano Cornecion, an 18-year-old midfielder from PSV's youth academy, came on and scored the seventh, his first goal in his fourth first-team match.
