Police have released new details about the man who shot Jaison Lopes Sanches (30) dead on a busy terrace at Tiendplein in Rotterdam on the evening of Saturday 29 October 2022. Camera footage shows the gunman is very likely between 1.70 and 1.73 metres tall, police say.

Police are taking into account that Jaison was never the target and that the wrong man was hit. A reward of €30,000 stands for a tip that leads to solving the case.

The gunman also walks with a tilt. Police say this "can stem from a fracture or accident in his youth or past", perhaps not treated, or not treated well. They say people close to the suspect may know the cause.

Examination of the spent ammunition shows the firearm was used in at least four other crimes in Rotterdam. Police suspect it is lent out for criminal jobs. They say the gunman need not be from Rotterdam and may have been hired.
