Police ask witnesses after two drug waste dumpings in Arnhem
Police are investigating two dumpings of chemical drug waste a week apart in Arnhem. They are asking witnesses, and people who saw nothing, to come forward.
Police are investigating two drug waste dumpings in Arnhem. On Friday 23 October officers found almost fifty barrels of chemical waste at the Achterstraat. A week earlier, on 16 October, they found around forty barrels on the Kemperbergerweg.
The barrels at the Achterstraat held more than 1,000 litres of chemicals in total, police say. They warn that the waste is very dangerous.
The impact on the environment could be enormous, if barrels start to leak, for example. The costs of cleaning up drug waste are also enormous.Police
Police want to hear from anyone who saw or heard something, or who has camera footage from the area. They also want to hear from people who saw that the waste was not yet there. Police say this can help the investigation.
