The Netherlands, explained

ministerraad

The ministerraad (Council of Ministers) is the weekly meeting of the full Dutch cabinet, chaired by the prime minister, where ministers and state secretaries take joint decisions on government policy. When a minister says they will raise a matter in the ministerraad, it means the issue will be discussed by the whole cabinet, not just by one ministry. The term is used in Dutch in official and news contexts.
