The contribution value is the value of land that an owner brings into a development project, based on its worth before the land is built on or redeveloped. In Dutch land development, it is the starting point for settling what the landowner receives when the land is transferred or included in a plan. It matters because the way it is calculated determines how much of the costs of new roads, green space and sewerage is taken into account when land for housing is valued.
