gezaghebber

The island governor: the head of the executive of a public body in the Caribbean Netherlands (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba). The gezaghebber is appointed by royal decree and chairs the island executive, the eilandsbestuur. On Sint Eustatius, the post leads the island's public administration, which is part of the Dutch constitutional structure.
