Videoland is taking over the sports licences and subscribers of Viaplay Nederland. The rights cover Formula 1, Premier League football, PDC darts and other live sport in the Netherlands. Based on its investigation, the ACM expects no adverse effects for viewers, the purchase of sports rights or the sale of advertising space.
The licences run for a limited period. When they expire, the owners of the sports rights will put them back on the market.
Viaplay Nederland runs a streaming service and two linear TV channels with live and on-demand sport. DPG's TV and streaming portfolio includes Videoland and five national commercial TV channels.
