The Amsterdam district court has extended the custody of Abdi A., 23, who is also suspected of attacking his foster father in Spierdijk.

The district court in Amsterdam has ruled that Abdi A., 23, must stay in custody for another 90 days. He is suspected of murder or manslaughter of Hajar, 29, in Amsterdam.
He is also suspected of attempted murder or manslaughter of his foster father in Spierdijk, North Holland.
Police investigation has shown that Hajar was killed in the early afternoon of 4 October, the first day she was missing, the police said. That morning she sent “worrying messages” to her family, the police said. The family could no longer reach her and went to the police in the evening.
A walker found Hajar's body in a suitcase in the water at the Amsteldijk in Amsterdam in mid-October. The family had reported her missing on the evening of 4 October, by which time she was already dead.
Abdi A. was arrested on 20 October. He is suspected of assaulting his foster father with a hammer in Spierdijk on the morning of his arrest. According to the police, the foster father was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
