Minister Karremans: no intention to close parts of Wadden islands for good
Minister Vincent Karremans told the Tweede Kamer that the government does not intend to permanently close off areas of the Wadden, though targeted, temporary access restrictions remain possible.
Vincent Karremans, minister of Infrastructure and Water Management (Infrastructuur en Waterstaat), said on Thursday that the government does not plan to permanently close off areas of the Wadden islands. He spoke during a debate on the Wadden in the Tweede Kamer, the Dutch lower house of parliament.
"It is not our intention to permanently close areas there," Karremans said. Targeted and temporary access restrictions do remain possible.
