Amsterdam Dance Event matches record with 600,000 visitors
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) matched its record with 600,000 visitors. The organisers say they aimed for better, not simply bigger.
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) says 600,000 people came this year, the same as its record.
An ADE spokesperson said growth in numbers is not a goal in itself, but growth in quality is. The organisation believes it achieved that.
ADE named several sold-out cross-over shows as highlights. One was Swan Lake Remixed for ADE in the Gashouder, where the Nationale Ballet and the ISH Dance Collective brought together classical ballet and modern choreography.
As evidence of that quality, the organisation points to a larger programme and to free events.
